Your House is a customizable part of your Stronghold. Expand it to unlock more spaces, then fill those spaces with furniture and useful fixtures.
Getting started
Open Stronghold and select the House tab. The panel at the top of the page shows your current house type, size and three ratings: Decor, Entertainment and Comfort.
Every player begins with an Empty Lot measuring 100 sq ft. The House page displays each available space as a card. Select an empty space to see what you can build there.
Expanding your House
Each House Permit adds 100 sq ft to your house. House Permits are awarded as you progress through the community House quests and can also be bought from the Carpenter in the City.
Additional spaces unlock when your house reaches the square-foot requirement shown on their cards. A locked space cannot be used until you have expanded the house far enough.
Adding furniture
Furniture can be bought from the Market, or its blueprint can be crafted in the Furniture Workshop in your Stronghold. Once you own a furniture blueprint:
- Open an unlocked Empty space on the House page.
- Review the recipe and the effects the furniture will add.
- Use Preview if you want to inspect the finished fixture before committing.
- Select Build and provide the required materials.
Furniture can provide more than House ratings. Some fixtures have passive effects or unlock activities, which are shown on the furniture card or detail view. If you want to replace a fixture, open it and use Pack Away to free its space.
Furniture
House ratings contribute to your House type, while other bonuses remain active whenever the furniture is installed. Activities add actions that can be used from the House page.

House ratings
Installed furniture contributes to three totals:
- Decor represents the appearance and style of the house.
- Entertainment represents leisure and amusement.
- Comfort represents how pleasant the house is to live in.
Furniture can add or subtract from these ratings, so a negative value may be useful when aiming for a darker house type. The current totals are always displayed at the top of the House page.
House types
Your house type is assigned automatically from its Decor, Entertainment and Comfort totals; it is not selected directly. Select the information icon beside your current house type in-game to open the same reference values.
For a positive value, your rating must be at least that amount. For a negative value, your rating must be at or below that amount. A value of zero is an ideal value rather than a hard requirement. If several types qualify, the type whose reference values are the closest overall match is used. If none qualify, the house remains an Empty Lot.
| House Type | Decor | Entertainment | Comfort |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shack | 0 | 0 | -5 |
| Cellar | -5 | 0 | 0 |
| Homestead | 5 | 0 | 5 |
| Bunker | -15 | -15 | 0 |
| Gallery | 25 | 0 | 0 |
| Graveyard | 0 | -20 | 0 |
| Torture Chamber | 0 | 0 | -50 |
| Underground Bar | 10 | 100 | 10 |
| Hunting Lodge | 0 | 50 | 0 |
| Pagoda | 100 | 25 | 0 |

Useful tips
- Check all three rating changes before building; some furniture improves one rating while reducing another.
- Expand before buying furniture if all of your current spaces are occupied.
- Furniture with an activity can add a useful action to the consolidated Activities section on the House page.
- Press and hold a House card to enter reorder mode, then drag cards into your preferred order and select Done.
