Hunting is the main way to find and fight Zeds. Successful fights award experience and may drop loot associated with the enemy or location.

Before a hunt

  • Equip a suitable weapon and armour in your Inventory.
  • Check your health and energy.
  • Compare your combat stats and weapon type with the target's difficulty and weakness.
  • Carry healing supplies if you plan to fight repeatedly.

How combat stats interact

  • Strength contributes to the damage you deal.
  • Defense reduces incoming damage.
  • Speed helps your attacks hit.
  • Agility helps you avoid attacks.
  • Matching a defender's weakness with the appropriate weapon type reduces the relevant defensive advantage.

If you lose

Losing a fight does not erase your character progress. You become injured when your health reaches zero and must recover or use suitable medical items. Your Medical Bay and inventory provide recovery options.

Progression

Hunting trains the Hunting skill and provides combat experience. Start with manageable targets, then use stronger equipment, trained stats, skill bonuses, and consumables to take on more difficult enemies.
